FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Heliconia Expands Adventure Cities into a Collection of Travel Formats Designed for Today’s Traveller.
OTTAWA, ON — The way people travel has changed. Today’s visitors are inspired by different motivations, travel styles, budgets, and lengths of stay. Some seek vibrant city breaks and iconic attractions. Others are drawn to extraordinary accommodations, quieter seasons, or making the most of a long weekend or business trip extension.
Recognizing these evolving travel behaviours, Heliconia has expanded its award-winning Adventure Cities brand into the Adventure Cities Collection – a family of complementary travel formats that gives destination partners new ways to tell their stories while maintaining the trusted Adventure Cities identity audiences already know.
For more than five years, Adventure Cities has inspired viewers through immersive storytelling that celebrates the culture, adventure, food, people, and personality that define a destination. Building on that success, the Adventure Cities Collection introduces four distinct storytelling formats, each aligned with different tourism objectives and traveller motivations.
The Adventure Cities Collection includes:
The expansion also broadens the range of organizations that can participate in the Adventure Cities Collection. Alongside destination marketing organizations, tourism boards, and regional partners, Adventure Cities: Home to Roam creates new opportunities for hotels, resorts, lodges, and other exceptional accommodations to showcase how the places travellers stay can become an integral part of the journey itself.
“Travellers don’t fit into a single category, and neither should destination storytelling,” said Brendan Mark, CEO of Heliconia. “The Adventure Cities Collection allows our partners to choose the format that best supports their tourism objectives while leveraging the trusted Adventure Cities brand and the cinematic storytelling audiences have come to expect.”
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, the Adventure Cities Collection enables tourism partners to tell their stories through the lens that best aligns with their objectives – whether inspiring urban exploration, encouraging shoulder-season travel, promoting exceptional accommodations, or appealing to travellers making the most of limited time.
Every production is supported by Heliconia’s proven omnichannel distribution strategy, delivering destination stories across premium broadcast television, regional sports networks, streaming services, FAST channels, digital platforms, and social media. Complementing each production is a thoughtfully developed social media strategy featuring purpose-built reels, carousels, behind-the-scenes content, and travel-planning assets designed to extend audience engagement well beyond the television premiere.
The series are hosted by award-winning travel writer Jonathan Thompson, whose curiosity, authentic storytelling, and passion for meaningful travel have helped make Adventure Cities one of North America’s leading destination-focused travel series.
Produced by Heliconia, the Adventure Cities Collection continues the company’s commitment to creating premium, long-form travel content that inspires exploration while helping tourism organizations and hospitality partners connect with high-value travel audiences through national television, streaming platforms, digital media, and social content.
