Lacey Conrad | June 11, 2025

The team at Heliconia is thrilled to announce another exhilarating season of Facing Waves premieres Saturday, June 28th, 2025 on FanDuel Sports Network.

World renowned paddler and Facing Waves host Ken Whiting, will push his limits in Season 12 with two distinct solo adventures. The five-episode arc will immerse viewers in the contrasting environments of Lake Superior Provincial Park and the Petawawa River in Algonquin Park, highlighting the unique challenges each location presents.

The initial two episodes will document Ken’s epic five-day solo sea kayaking expedition along the rugged and remote waters of Lake Superior. Ken navigates the powerful waves and explores the incredible shores of this great lake. In the last three episodes of Season 12, Ken goes on a whitewater adventure down the Petawawa River. These three episodes will showcase the demanding nature of wilderness river trips on Ken’s five-day solo journey through Algonquin Park.

Season 12 will begin airing on FanDuel Sports Network on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, and will also be available on OutsideTV starting July 17th. For our European audience, the new season of Facing Waves will also be available on Nautical Channel in Fall 2025. In the meantime, you can enjoy previous seasons of the show on PBS Networks. Be sure to check local listings for specific airing and premiere times.

The Facing Waves television series has long been celebrated for its stunning cinematography and Ken Whiting’s engaging storytelling, offering viewers an immersive experience into the world of paddling and adventure. Season 12 promises to deliver even more breathtaking scenery and inspiring feats of endurance.
