The entire Heliconia team is excited to announce that our founder, and paddling expert Ken Whiting, has been recognized for his outstanding work on his Wild Discovery series. Paddle Canada and the Waterwalker Film Festival, have awarded Ken for the “Best in the Sea Kayaking” Category at this year’s festival for Ken’s Wild Discovery – Kayaking Lake Superior episode.
This recognition celebrates Ken’s creativity, passion, and storytelling that went into bringing the Kayaking Lake Superior adventure to life. Through breathtaking visuals and compelling narratives, the digital episodes highlight not only the spirit of paddling and adventure, but also the natural beauty and cultural significance of Lake Superior and Canada’s waterways.
“The idea behind my Wild Discovery films has always been to share my experiences on some of the world’s most incredible multi-day paddling trips, with the hope of inspiring more people to get out on the water. To now have these films recognized by the world’s longest-running Paddling Film Festival, founded by the legendary Bill Mason, is truly an honour.”
