FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Heliconia, the award-winning video production company behind the exciting Facing Waves television series, is pleased to announce that the eleventh season of its popular paddlesports show is set to premiere on Bally Sports on June 29th, 2024 across the U.S.
Facing Waves is an inspiring adventure travel TV series that follows world-renowned paddler and author, Ken Whiting, as he discovers the cultures, landscapes and paddling explorations that surround the world’s most amazing adventure travel destinations. Ken’s mission is to get more people into the outdoors and become life-long enthusiasts.
The first two episodes are a two-part adventure in Lapland, in the north of Finland, paddling the Luttojoki River with reindeer and exploring islands of Lake Inarijarvi. Later in the season, Facing Waves heads to Ireland for another two-part adventure, exploring Ireland’s West Coast by kayak and foot along the Wild Atlantic Way, as well as Northern Ireland’s Giant’s Causeway Coast near Derry and Strangford Lough outside Belfast. The final episode of the season finds Ken in northern California, exploring the turbulent waters along the Mendocino Coast before putting his skills to the test on the mountain rivers around Mount Shasta.
The show’s premiere airing will be on Bally Sports in late June, but will also air via Outside TV beginning on July 11th. All episodes are being broadcast on Canada’s Water Network in late summer and then in Europe on Nautical Channel this fall. Facing Waves season 11 will also make its way across PBS’s network of stations across the U.S in 2025.
